十五:122112 The World is still Intact and we are still alive.

If you watched the 2012 movie, it was said there that the ancient people of Mayan's predicted a thousand years ago that the world will end in what the scientist's have translated to be as December 21, 2012. All the ice in the world will melt and there will be a great flood submerging more that half of the Earth's land and killing millions of people.

December 21, 2012 has come and here we are still alive, some might have gone of course (may their souls rest in peace..), but seriously speaking, the world did not end at all. What I have read in the news is that today is the Winter Solstice where the Earth will experience the longest night which signals the start of the Winter season though in our tropical country that is not really relevant since we don't have winter.

Going back, I have heard in the news that there were cults that believed the rumor and their local government have arrested them. I actually did not believe in it since like how other people who believes in God would say, "Only God can tell when the world will end." I am not that religious but I do believe in God. For those who claims to be aetheists and would like to believe in themore scientific explanations, the world will end in about a million years later or maybe sooner if we don't discipline ourselves and protect our environment.

Again since I am not that religious, I also believe that the world will end with the behavior of humans as the major factor. The world's population is increasing rapidly so more resources are being used. Excuse the word but I would like to use the phrase that the Earth is actually being raped by humans.

I dont claim to be innocent since I also use the Earth's resources but I try to help in my own ways like at least segregating our trash, recycling water and stuff. I am actually afraid that we will soon run out of natural resources because of the greediness of others.

My wish would be that in the years to come, people will realize the importance of taking care of nature. Aren't natural disasters and calamities, rapid climate changes, shortage of food and water enough as signs? Yeah it isn't enough for most people I think. Being humane in this world is not enough for us to live. What's important is to actually respect the environment first and then be humane because without the environment, there will be no humans.

I think someday there will be another great flood like that of the story of Noah's ark where all the bad people will die and only the good ones and the seeds and animals will be saved so the Earth can start anew. I know it's a bad idea but you can never tell what God or Mother Nature is planning.

To end this post I have had this saying in mind for a while now, "Save the Earth, Save the Humans."
